Clinical Study of Tuberculous Cervical Lymphadenitis

Abstract
A clinical study of 96 cases of tuberculous cervical Iymphadenitis, of which 23 cases were treated surgically, 21 uses medically, and 52 cases by combined therapy, during the past 3 years from Aug. 1, 1963 to Aug. 31, 1966 at 1st army hospital was presented. The results obtained as follow.
1) The age of the highest incidence was 21-25 year old (65.5%) in this hospital. The common local findings were mass, (83.3%), cold abscess, (9.4%), and fistuls or siuus (7.3%)
2) The common location were deep cervical group, (48 cases), superficial cervical group, (28 cases), submaxillary group(29 cases), and supraclavicular group. (16 cases), The unilateral was 75% (left; 46.8%. right; 28.2%) and bilateral. 25%.
3) In 9.4% of this cases active pulmonary tuberculosis accompanied the cervical adenitis, and in 21.8% of this cases pulmonary lesion had healed on admission in X-ray findings of the chest.
4) The recurrence of our series were 41.5 % following medical traetment, 18.9% after surgical treatment, and 7.5% following combined therapy during one year of the follow-up.
